ARISE walked with the community from ARISE Las Milpas Center to the voting poll.
Educational Forum for Hidalgo County candidates.
Last Saturday ARISE with Proyecto Azteca and Lupe members of Equal Voice Network had an educational forum with the Hidalgo County candidates. Was an opportunity for candidates to become educated on the needs of our community, they know and listened the issues that impact our families in our neighbohoods.

Voter Educational Community Meeting
Today ARISE and Proyecto Azteca, members of Equal Voice Network had a meeting with the community from las Milpas. They express their needs and created a political platform; this political platform will be exposed to the candidates on October 16.
As a community we want that the candidates know our needs and our hopes for a better future.

GOTV VOLUNTEERS START WALKING THE STREETS OF LAS MILPAS
ARISE GEARS UP TO START GETTING OUT THE VOTE
ARISE with MI FAMILIA VOTA and 9 organizations (members of EQUAL VOICE) will start the campaign:
MY VOICE= MY VOTE.
The goal of this year's get out the vote campaign is to increase voting participation across Hidalgo and Cameron counties colonias by more than 10%.
To accomplish the goal ARISE will be having various events, including: trainings for community leaders and young people, candidate forums in the month of Semptember, voter education seminars, phone calls, and we are going to visit around 9 thousand homes in precinct 5 and 122 (Las Milpas and surrounding areas) inviting the families to voice their opinion by voting.
El pasado 19 de Agosto ARISE junto con otras organizaciones que forman EQUAL VOICE, dieron inicio al programa:
MI VOZ= MI VOTO.
Este proyecto no lucrativo tiene como objetivo levantar la voz política de los latinos a través del voto.
LA META: Aumentar el 10% de los votantes en comparación con las elecciones pasadas. Crear una cultura de votar en todas las elecciones para que nuestra voz sea escuchada.
COMO? Visitar casa por casa de los precintos 5 y 122 del condado de Hidalgo (precintos con menos actividad de votantes) para brindarle a nuestra comunidad más y mejores oportunidades, además de tener mejores representantes políticos que busquen nuestro bienestar. Vamos a visitar aproximadamente 9 mil familias del área de Las Milpas.
Además se trabajarán en los precintos 91, 39 y 4 (Alamo y San Juan) apoyando con llamadas telefónicas y correo.
CUANDO? De Septiembre a Octubre.
QUIENES? El personal de ARISE, jóvenes de las comunidades, además de contar con el apoyo de proyecto AZTECA, nuestra clínica del Valle y la Iglesia de Saint Ann, Pharr.
